Winter in the Bregenzerwald is heralded by the ringing of cowbells worn by the cattle as they are brought down from the mountain pastures before the first snow falls. Baskets full of wild berries and mushrooms are harvested. Just a few metres from the Hotel Post Bezau you can join the well-prepared cross-country skiing trails which will take you along the shores of the river Ach into the village of Bizau. If you prefer downhill skiing you will find the nearest slopes just 4 kilometres away in Mellau, which can be reached quickly and easily by ski bus.
The nearest major ski areas are the resorts of Schoppernau, Damüls and Warth starting at about a 15km car ride from the hotel. And if you don’t fancy braving the cold then simply work up an appetite for a delicious winter meal in our gourmet restaurant in the spa, in the wellness area or on the tennis courts. And of course at the end of the day a cosy and warming open fire awaits you. As one would expect.
