The 12 village loop tours take respectively between 1.5 and 4 through Au, Schoppernau, Mellau, Bizau, Bezau-Reuthe, Andelsbuch, Schwarzenberg, Egg, Lingenau, Langenegg, Hittisau and Krumbach. Each “Umgang” will feature ten information columns that point out special features in the cultural landscape, identify technical details of buildings or ecological details or present facets of artistic or culinary works.
Life and culture in the Bregenz Forest
With the district court, notary’s office, various schools and businesses, Bezau is a centre in the region. Special features of the landscape such as the moor or the sources of iron have made the area known for its natural healing powers. On the “Umgang” through Bezau, you will discover the typical Bregenz Forest barn with its special features, learn how Franciscan monasteries changed over the centuries and how modern and traditional architecture can optimally complement each other.
