The popular music festival is taking to the stage for the 12th time, offering a musical weekend with artists from all over the world in the heart of the beautiful Bregenzerwald. This year’s program boasts not only a wide range of musical acts but also variety in the nationalities represented. There are musicians from South Korea (Near East Quartet), Brazil (Ava Rocha), Portugal (Bode Wilson, Susana Santos Silva), the USA (Leni Stern), and the UK (Alabaster dePlume). New York trumpeter Peter Evans and his trio kick off the festival on Thursday, followed by the band Sudden Infant.
“Our aim is to collectively enjoy live music that’s away from the mainstream,” says Alfred Vogel, the organizer of BEZAU BEATZ.
Festival-goers are not only presented with a varied musical program, they also get changes of scenery: as well as such established venues as the Bregenzerwald railway depot, Kaspar’s Alter Säge, the cabin in Schönenbach, and the panoramic restaurant at Baumgarten at a height of 1,650 m, the newly renovated church in Bezau will also be on the list – with its own church organ. The pop-up BEZAU BEATZ CAFE at the Alte Krone is once again hosting jamming sessions and concerts.
