The new Hotel Post Bezau by Susanne Kaufmann will debut on June 2, 2019. We will continue to focus on nature, wellness, enjoyment, and sustainability. Bezau – a village in the upper Bregenz Forest, in an Alpine valley in western Austria – is home to the Kaufmann family and the Hotel Post Bezau. Against a backdrop of lush green meadows, rugged mountain formations, and clear river water, The Post was established 150 years ago. Susanne Kaufmann is the fifth generation to manage the hotel and has been doing so since 1994: “A reorientation was therefore also a family decision, which required time. One thing was clear to us from the beginning – we remain true to our roots, because they give us stability and strength for something new”.
New. In the Bregenz Forest, there is enough space for both the tried-and-true and the new. The Bregenz Forest house, which has proven its worth for many hundreds of years, inspires new wooden architecture; old craftsmanship is reflected in new design, and traditional knowledge is combined with new insights. “We are building on this community, which appreciates precisely this profound togetherness and closeness to nature,” explains Susanne Kaufmann. The new hotel concept combines an even stronger focus on the region with the power of nature and 15 years of experience in spa culture and preventative care. Her goal is to “Create an attentive and inspiring place to experience a positive change in life and body.”
Retreats. Small, planned breaks from everyday life simplify changes in lifestyle, diet, and habits. This is why Susanne Kaufmann and hotel director Stephanie Rist have developed a hotel concept based on a healthy diet, sufficient exercise and sleep, and holistic beauty. In order to achieve a sustainable effect, a little bit of focus is necessary. For this reason, the retreats offered include areas of focus, which are then tailored to individual needs: Detox, Holistic Beauty, Discovery, Fitness, Pilates, Yoga, Tennis, and Family Retreats.
Spa. The Hotel Post already had a spa under the management of her parents. In 1994, Susanne Kaufmann modernized the spa, expanded the range of treatments, and added elements of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The launch of the spa’s own cosmetic line in 2003 was the logical next step. In the meantime, Susanne Kaufmann™ has established itself internationally as a natural active ingredient cosmetic brand, and with the new concept, beauty experts, therapists, and doctors combine 25 years of spa expertise with proven products and treatments. “Our spa reflects all our values: uncompromisingly high quality of service and products combined with our values, which can be summarized with sustainability, openness, and transparency,” says hotel director Stephanie Rist, describing the heart of the hotel. All spa products are also available in the Susanne Kaufmann shop, which is located catty-corner to the hotel.
Future. “We are inspired by the diversity of the Bregenz Forest, its inhabitants, and our guests,” emphasizes Susanne Kaufmann. The hotel’s team will align their efforts to actively contribute to the community. Thus, “The Post” is being carefully refined while staying faithful to its principles – be it offering food workshops, innovative beauty education programs, or new signature packages and treatments. “We’re adding a new chapter to our 150-year history,” say Susanne Kaufmann and Stephanie Rist.
