Bregenzerwald is one of Austria’s ski areas with the most guaranteed snow year-round and offers plenty of terrain and diversity for all levels of ability: from the kids’ ski park to fun parks, to the ski adventure taking you to Lech am Arlberg, this ski region has it all. From the Hotel Post Bezau, you can easily reach all four ski areas by public transport within 10 to 40 minutes.
It takes less than five minutes to get from the hotel to the valley station of the cable car, which will take you to this absolutely family-friendly ski resort. It is our secret tip for families with various levels of ability. With a gondola lift, two double chairlifts, four drag lifts and a practice lift as well as the famous seven-kilometre long downhill run, variety is guaranteed. Toboggan fans big and small are catered for here too, and when you need a cosy stop to recharge, you are spoilt for choice. From cosy huts to the modern panoramic restaurant Baumgarten.
For a little more action, look no further than the largest ski area in Bregenzerwald. You can reach Mellau by bus in just under ten minutes, and from there, the gondola takes you directly to the ski resort. Your family has over 29 lifts and cable cars as well as 109 kilometres of downhill slopes for all levels at their fingertips. Whoever wants can let off steam in the Burton snowpark. The little ones can discover skiing or snowboarding in the Kid’s World. Here you can enjoy skiing pleasure at up to 2,100 metres above sea level with a fantastic panoramic view.
Another very family-friendly ski resort in direct proximity to Bezau is located above Au-Schoppernau: the area around the Diedamskopf mountain is very sunny and, along with 40 kilometres of slopes of all difficulty levels, also offers a varied freeride area and the Pleasure Diedamspark for all those who want to have a whirl in the fun park. The ten-kilometre long downhill run is among the most beautiful in Vorarlberg.
In the Upper Bregenzerwald, since the 2013/2014 winter season, a very special ski connection awaits you. The gondola “Auenjet” connects the Bregenzerwald to the Arlberg. In total, over 400 kilometres of slopes and 88 lifts are at your disposal. If you are a family of advanced skiers, treat yourself to this ski safari as a day trip. Ski the “White Ring”, and return back to us at the Hotel Post Bezau with plenty of stories. Please note that the ski card for the ski resort “Ski Arlberg” cannot be used with the 3-valley ski pass. You can purchase discounted "swap" day tickets at the lift counter in Warth-Schröcken.
Back in the Hotel Post Bezau, we will be waiting for you with a cup of tea, a hot chocolate, a crackling open fire and many ways to relax!
