Glowing skin from within

Back to list

With the help of fresh juices to healthier skin and more energy.

The holiday season is over, so it is about time to make some new year’s resolutions. How about an extra boost of energy and motivation, a fresh and glowing look or maybe even some pounds less? Fresh, homemade fruit and vegetable juices or smoothies activate the natural cleansing powers in our body and help to get rid of the ballast from last year. Our detox specialists compiled some recipes that are quick and easy and of course taste very nice!

Effects. We are convinced of the effects of fresh, homemade juices. They work best, if they are part of a balanced diet. A rich smoothie can replace one meal. In the long run, however, a balanced diet is more effective to improve the well-being, where beautiful glowing skin is a part of.

Preparation. For the preparation, you need a juicer and/or a powerful blender. Don’t forget to wash the ingredients thoroughly before use.

Juices for glowing skin

Elasticity, mainly coming from the structural protein collagen, is essential for a glowing complexion. With increasing age the body slows down its production of collagen. Among others, products rich in vitamin C stimulate the collagen production. Vitamin C helps with the synthesis of proteins in the body. Especially beneficial are dark green vegetables and citrus fruits. Additionally, antioxidants like lycopene, which are found in red fruits and vegetables (peppers, tomatoes, beetroots) support the collagen production. An extra portion of omega-3 fatty acids, which also helps with the production of collagen, is found in nuts, almonds and avocados.

Juices for boosting your immune system

Green leafy vegetables are a true immune boost with great amounts of vitamin A and C. They support our lung, liver and kidney functions. At the same time, they help to fill up our calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium and phosphorous balance. Add cayenne pepper for a bit of spice, which stimulates the circulation. It also contains beta carotene and antioxidants. The recipes also incorporate ginger. Especially in the winter months, ginger unfolds its warming effect and stimulates the blood circulation in our body. Thereby, more oxygen is carried into our tissues and a protective shield against infections and bacteria is built. Ginger also keeps the sinuses open.

Detox shots

Detox shots have an intense taste and work as true nutrient boosts in the body. Especially in the cold season, they help to prevent colds as fresh ginger and turmeric are known for their warming and anti-inflammatory properties. Our tip: Drink a Detox shot before breakfast, keep the other one in the fridge and use up later in the day.

Lemon-lime shot

Ginger works anti-inflammatory and has a positive effect on the digestive tract, while lemon and lime work alkaline-generating and give an extra dose of vitamin C. A splash of agave syrup reduces the intense taste of the Detox shot.

Ingredients:

1 lemon (pressed or peeled)

1 lime (pressed or peeled)

1 thumb-sized piece of ginger (peeled)

Preparation: Put all ingredients in a blender. Optionally, add a splash of agave syrup and blend 2-3 minutes.

Apple-lime-turmeric shot

Turmeric is an important healing plant because of its antioxidant effects. Lime boosts the immune system and has anti-inflammatory properties. Apple is a vitamin bomb and creates a pleasant taste.

Ingredients:

1/2 green apple

1 lime (pressed or peeled)

1 thumb-sized piece of turmeric (fresh, peeled)

Preparation: Put all ingredients in a blender. Optionally, add a splash of agave syrup and blend 2-3 minutes.

Carrot-lemon-turmeric shot

Carrots are rich in vitamins and minerals: carotene, potassium and many vitamins of the B-group make the perfect addition to turmeric and lemon. They all protect from colds and are beneficial for beautiful skin.

Ingredients:

1 carrot

1 lemon

1 thumb-sized piece of turmeric (fresh, peeled)
