The holiday season is over, so it is about time to make some new year’s resolutions. How about an extra boost of energy and motivation, a fresh and glowing look or maybe even some pounds less? Fresh, homemade fruit and vegetable juices or smoothies activate the natural cleansing powers in our body and help to get rid of the ballast from last year. Our detox specialists compiled some recipes that are quick and easy and of course taste very nice!
Effects. We are convinced of the effects of fresh, homemade juices. They work best, if they are part of a balanced diet. A rich smoothie can replace one meal. In the long run, however, a balanced diet is more effective to improve the well-being, where beautiful glowing skin is a part of.
Preparation. For the preparation, you need a juicer and/or a powerful blender. Don’t forget to wash the ingredients thoroughly before use.
Elasticity, mainly coming from the structural protein collagen, is essential for a glowing complexion. With increasing age the body slows down its production of collagen. Among others, products rich in vitamin C stimulate the collagen production. Vitamin C helps with the synthesis of proteins in the body. Especially beneficial are dark green vegetables and citrus fruits. Additionally, antioxidants like lycopene, which are found in red fruits and vegetables (peppers, tomatoes, beetroots) support the collagen production. An extra portion of omega-3 fatty acids, which also helps with the production of collagen, is found in nuts, almonds and avocados.

Green leafy vegetables are a true immune boost with great amounts of vitamin A and C. They support our lung, liver and kidney functions. It also contains beta carotene and antioxidants. The recipes also incorporate ginger. Especially in the winter months, ginger unfolds its warming effect and stimulates the blood circulation in our body.
